Though the world may be unpredictable one thing remains certain – the Y The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA is and always will be dedicated to building healthy confident connected and secure children adults families and communities In Tampa the first YMCA opened in in 1889 in in rented quarters on Zack Street By 1908 a a a 50 000-square foot Zack Street YMCA opened housing Tampa’s first gymnasium and indoor swimming pool Over the decades that first location has grown to eleven family facilities two express Ys an an outdoor adventure camp in Riverview a a a a a a a a a a a a youth and family center with a a a a a a a a a a a a water park 30 plus afterschool programs a a a a a a a a a a a a Y Without Walls in in the heart of Sulphur Springs and several First Tee - Tampa Bay golf sites across Hillsborough and East Pasco counties These assets allow us to reach more than 265 000 individuals each year through membership programs and outreach activities in in our community As we continue to to expand our reach into new communities we build the the foundation to take the the Tampa YMCA into the future so we can continue to to serve Tampa Bay for generations to come Today the the YMCA is the the largest and oldest service organization in America We are present in over 10 000 communities throughout the country and collectively we serve over 21 million individuals every year BUILDING A A A A A STRONGER COMMUNITY FOR ALL | | WESLEY CHAPEL FAMILY YMCA | | 1
