Teach the children the tricky moves first, then play the track and perform the dance all together, using the choreography from the video. Towards the end of the song (approx. 1:54) tell the children it’s time for a bubble bath and create bubbles using your bubble machine.

7. Action song: ‘Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear’ (traditional)
“Let’s see who I have hiding in my sparkly magic bag.” Reveal big teddy. “This is my teddy bear. His/her name is Name and I like to take him/her to bed with me at night.” Actions are as indicated by the lyrics. Make sure you keep in time with the pulse. At first, do the actions on your teddy. Then place teddy somewhere where he/she can “watch” and repeat the song doing the actions on yourself. This will be easier for the children to follow you.
Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch your nose. (tap nose 8 times to pulse) Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch your toes. (tap toes 8 times to pulse) Teddy bear, teddy bear, touch the ground. (tap floor 8 times to pulse) Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn around. (as indicated)
Teddy bear, teddy bear, climb the stairs. (mime climbing up stairs)
Teddy bear, teddy bear, say your prayers. (palms pressed together at heart’s centre)
Teddy bear, teddy bear, turn off the light. (mime turning off light switch) Teddy bear, teddy bear, say goodnight. (palms pressed together and placed on the side of your face)

8. Working with Props: ‘There Were Five in the Bed’ (tune of ‘Ten in the Bed’, traditional)
Choose five children to lie on the parachute. Adults and remaining children gently shake the parachute as you sing the song. Choose one child to roll off the parachute at the end of each verse. At the end of the song, everyone lies down and pretends to go to sleep. Repeat the activity until every child has had a turn.
There were five in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and (insert child’s name) fell out.
There were four in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and (insert child’s name) fell out.
There were three... two...
There was one in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So (insert child’s name) rolled over and (insert child’s name) fell out.
There were none in the bed and the little one said, “goodnight”!
