DADDAD
I love you. Yes I do!
I love Granny, I love Granny.
Yes I do, yes I do.
All I want to say is, “Happy Mother's Day”. I love you. Yes I do!
I love Aunty, I love Aunty.
Yes I do, yes I do.
All I want to say is, “Happy Mother's Day”. I love you. Yes I do!
This should be sung the weeks before and after Mother’s Day only. If it’s in your plan and it is not one of those weeks, switch it for another action song.
Activities for classes in the nursery
1. Reveal a picture of a woman in your life that you would like to thank on Mother’s Day. "The woman in this picture is my mum/aunt/gran. I brought it to show you because very soon it will be Mother's Day/we’ve just had Mother’s Day. Now we're going to sing a song to tell our mummies, grannies and aunties how much we love them." Sing the song with the following actions. Tapping hearts to pulse for first line. Nodding heads to pulse for second line. Clapping hands to pulse for third line. Hand on heart and then pointing to someone in the circle for the last line. Adults to help the babies with the actions where possible. Make sure to sing all three verses.
2. Ask the staff to help with the actions so you can play along with your melodic instrument.
Activities for classes with parents
As above only the adults cuddle their child on the last line.
Same as for babies, or older toddlers can sing ‘On This Special Day’ as in pre-schooler plans.
