Music player, music speaker, sparkly magic bag, a picture of a man in your life that you would like to thank on Father’s Day (e.g. your dad/uncle/grandad), parachute, small teddy, two other soft toys and magic sparkles
Lesson Plan
1. Warm-up: ‘Shake Your Sillies Out’ performed by The Wiggles See summer lesson one. Make sure to use lots of energy!

2. Stretching and curling: Moody Cat See summer lesson one.
* Running time approx. 3 mins.
3. Travel to Danceland: ‘Butterfly Waltz’ performed by Brian Crain See summer lesson four.
* Running time approx. 4 mins.
4. Introduce the theme: ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ written by Anne Porter Without speaking, get the children into a circle by singing ‘Let’s Make a Circle’ as in summer lesson one.
“Can anyone remember what we learnt about last week? Do you remember who this is?” Reveal the picture of a man in your life that you would like to thank on Father’s Day. Ask volunteers to tell you what they did on Father’s Day. Lead the group in quickly acting out each suggestion whilst seated (e.g. made a card, cooked him breakfast, drew a picture etc.).

5. Fine motor skills: ‘Daddy’s Steps’ written by Unknown See summer lesson four.

6. Choreographed dance: ‘Just the Two of Us (feat. Bill Withers)’ performed by Grover Washington, Jr.

8. Working with Props: ‘Swing Me Over the Water’ (traditional)
“A fun activity to do with our daddies, uncles and grandads is to go on the swings at the park! Let’s use the parachute to make a giant swing!” Sing the song acapella as you move the “imaginary parachute” from side to side to the pulse then lift it up high as you say ‘Whee!’.
