should be organized under the FCI control. Then for the future we will have much better situation than today. We won’t be able to take the licenses away from those who already got them, but at least in the next generation of the FCI judges we can hope to reach a higher quality.
But who could propose this way to the FCI?
Well, it’s a good question! After this long time in the commission I can say that the countries only look out for their own interests, not for the interests of the FCI world in general. So, it’s dif- ficult to answer who will fight for the improvements which we need. And this is our drama... Per- haps for you it sounds disappointing, but it’s the reality.
Yes, I understand. Unfortunately, in the situation of today the FCI is just another bureaucratic struc- ture. It works well for the titles or for big events, but not for the breeds and not for the education.
Everybody, who knows me and who had to work together with me during those 15 years on the FCI commission, will confirm that I always have been fighting and trying to bring things in order or to make the regulations better, and step by step we began to move in the right direction. It was not enough, but something was done. Now the most important task is to institute the rule that the FCI all-round judges have to pass the exams under the FCI control. And it’s not so di cult to organize!
