Delbrügger’s Ottocar
One of the last actual producers with “Delbrügger’s” prefix, Ottocar (Delbrügger’s Elias x Delbrügger’s
Clara) is the “living legend” for all of us. In his young years, with Anja Brunstering & Frank Vogt (kennel “vom Driland”), he was shown to the titles of EW, WUT WJW, WUT WW, BS, ES. Now Otto is owned, loved and shown by family Lohmann (kennel “anne Pichten”). He is still enjoying himself in the rings, and at the age of 11 got the titles of the DTK & VDH Veteran Ch.
Ottocar... what can I say about our “Otto”? Due to sad circumstances, he came to us in February 2016 in rather bad condition. A very calm and gentlemanlike dog, who went straight into our hearts. Not used to stay in- doors, he was happy to water all curtains and doors regularly in the beginning. But can you be angry with such a face? Such meaningful telling eyes? He has the habit to look directly into peoples’ faces and seems to read them. Although he has gained two kilos, he now jumps onto the sofa easily, and his daily walks are big fun for him. Never been trained to
hunt, but nerves as steel, and to our big surprise, he inspected a bucket full with fresh shot rab- bits, decided to pick one out and carry it around... proud as Jupiter! Hunters became very fasci- nating for him, and he “reads” trousers and bags long and thoroughly. Just for fun we decided to take him with us on a show last summer and entered him in veteran class. He definetely enjoyed the show ring, but oh.... to watch him later performing in the main ring... on red carpet in spot- light... he lost half of his years! He transformed into an absolute eye-catcher: a high head, tail wagging little superstar, parading with 50 mostly bigger dogs and... nobody could overlook him! He was sparkling with joy and beaming with charisma. So every now and then we give him his ex- tra showtime and enjoy his pride, as long as it is not too stressing for him.
