Kiosks – Floor Fed
Dependencies
Design
o Kiosks are only to be floor fed when the floor is being replaced. If the floor is not being replaced the kiosks are to be ceiling fed.
o To ensure the drawings clearly state “floor fed” or “ceiling fed” on the 50/GA Drawings.
Main Contractor
o To ensure “Cavity Walls” or “Under Floor Basement” routes are advised to the electrical and first fix IT engineering teams. This will help ensure
that the correct routes are taken prior to second fix commencement.
Positioning
o The IT Partner is unable to confirm the exact kiosk prior to arrival.
o Tolerance for the footings sizes must be factored when placing the ducting in the final positions.
o See below overall footings plate sizes –
Acrelec – 485mm x 260mm
Evoke – 510mm x 270mm
Ducts
o Two 50mm ducts required per kiosk (1x Data, 1x Electrical)
o Duct to be provided from above the ceiling grid, down through the cavity wall and presented at base level of the kiosk footing plate. Duct
MUST be flush with the floor tiling.
o MUST HAVE DRAW WIRE AND MUST BE CENTRAL TO THE KIOSK FOOTINGS PLATE
o DUCT ROUTES TO HAVE MINIMAL BENDS, SHARP BENDS IN THE DUCTING COULD RESULT IN REPLACEMENT DUCTING NEEDED.
o DUCT ROUTES TO AVOID FURNITURE POSITIONS TO ENSURE NO FURNITURE FIXINGS AFFECT THE DUCTING
Power
o Terminates inside the kiosk rather than above the ceiling.
Data
o Terminates inside the kiosks rather than above the ceiling.
