EATAndalucia has a mouth-watering range of delicacies to try! From famous paella, cooked in beachside chiringuitos (beachside restaurants) in the coastal resorts to fresh local produce including seafood, cane honey and sweet wines in the traditional village of Frigiliana. Of course, tasty tapas are found in most towns, where a nice cold beer goes a treat with your favourite mini dish. Seafood lovers are well catered for too – why not try the catch of the day or a prawn pil pil? All tastes are catered for with the traditional coexisting alongside international cuisine to complete your Andalucian taste experience.
SEE Countless historic cities and monuments make Andalucia a must for sightseers. The caves of Nerja, discovered by schoolboys in the 1950s have the largest stalactite in the world.
A route through the ‘Alpujarras’ white villages will take you into traditional Andalucia, little changed by tourism. Try some serrano ham on the way! Frigiliana, known as one of the prettiest villages
in Andalucia, takes you on a voyage of discovery through Moorish history and culture. If you wish to explore further you can go big in cities such as Cordoba or Ronda, or find little gems closer to home, like the dunes and Roman ruins of Torrox.
DO Andalcuia has plenty of attractions to keep you occupied, and you can do as little, or as much as you like. The uNESCO World Heritage Site of Alhambra Palace in Granada is unmissable! Malaga city is a vibrant, attractive and popular city with a wealth of museums, tapas bars and great beaches to explore. The coastal resorts of nerja and Torrox Costa offer wonderful beaches and beachside restaurants with everything from relaxing days with water sports thrown in for good measure to fun filled nightlife! a winding coastal route from Nerja to Almunecar has breath taking scenery and plenty of Andalucian culture. Numerous festivals including the famous ‘Three Cultures Festival’ in Frigiliana, and ‘San Isidro’ in Nerja make it easy for the visitor to join in with local traditions and live and breathe the real Andalucia.
