Prayer is talking to God, in any language, in any place. Talking to God can be scripted or unscripted;
both are ways to connect to the Divine.
The Hebrew word for prayer is lehitpalel, means to self- examine. The essence of prayer is examining what we want, why we want it, and why it would be good for us.
Prayer has a meditative quality that allows space for new clarity.
If you haven't prayed in a while (or ever) that's okay. There is no wrong way to pray. When you walk up to the Wall, just say, "Hi. It's me." That's all the introduction you need.
