tics. The various moral and non-moral perfections of God are not compo nent parts of God. Each one of them describes His total being. God is more than the sum total of His perfections. If we could list all the attributeswecan glean from revelation, we could not describe God by our finite mind.
Even if we could say we had a complete list of all God's perfections, we could not fathom their meaning because our finite human mind cannotcom prehend the infinite God. But thank God for revelation. He can reveal them to us when we are close to Him. The attribute of God are typically classi fied into two categories: moral and non-moral.
I Non-Moral Attributes
A Omnipresence
TheLatinprefix "Omni" means "all." Thecompound word omnipresence meansthatGodispresenteverywhereatonce. Thisattributehasspecialref erence to His presence within the universe, (whereas immensity transcends all space). (See Psalm 139:7-10; Isaiah 66:1; Jeremiah 23:23-26; Acts 17:24-33; John 3:13). It is a free act of His will not a necessary part of His being. IfGod should will to remove the universe. His omnipresence would cease, but he himself would not cease to be (Psalm 102:25-26; Isaiah65:17). The omnipres ence of God is a source of comfort to the believer (Deuteronomy 4:7; Psalm 46:1; Psalm 145:18; Matthew 28:20), but also a source of warning and restraint to the unbeliever (Psalm 139:7-10; Hebrews 4:13). God is limitless and nothing can hide from Him. There is no distance or darkness that can hide from Him.
B Omniscient (Ali Knowing) God
God is all knowing from eternity to eternity. He sees all things, whether they are actual or merely possible, past, present, or future. He knows things immediately, simultaneously and exhaustively. Evidences of design in cre ation and in man's intelligence prove God's omniscience. These evidences find their highest expression in the intelligence of man. The omnipresence of God further proves His omniscience (Psalm 139:1-10; Proverbs 15-3/ Jeremiah23:23,25). ScripturedeclaresthatGod'sunderstandingisinfinite (Isaiah 46:10), and that nothing is hidden from Him (Psalm 147:5; Hebrews 4:13; Matthew 10:30).
Everything that exists is known to God (Psalm 147:4; Proverbs 5:21; Psalm 139:1-4; Proverbs 15:3; Exodus 3:7; Matthew 6:8,32). All possible things are known to God (I Samuel 23:11-29; Matthew 11:21,23; Isaiah 48:1-8). Idealists ntay deny the knowledge and power of God; and they might not believe
