Unseen Hands
When the Holy Spirit took possession, she felt turbid darkness swept out of her heart to be replaced by a luminous glow ofhappiness. Joy sprang up as a sparkling fountain, andpeace beyond wordsstreamed through her soul. She praised God throughout the night in a new language.
Two students had wronged Erkenesh, and she had taken revenge by slashing their grades. At six o'clock in the morning she ran to the house where they stayed, and taking them by surprise, fell on her knees before them and begged for forgiveness.
"Jesus has filled me with the Holy Spirit," she said, "and my whole life has changed. I forgive you, and you have forgiven me. This is truly wonderful." Both of them received the Holy Ghost a few days later.
Before, Erkenesh could never spend more than five minutes in prayer. Now she prayed for hours, day and night. The shy, reserved girl disappeared, and she wit nessed with overflowing love to everyone she met, regardless of race, age, or position. She received a spirit of praise that swept her joyfully through the days. God
revealed the agonies of Calvary to her in a dream, and her hard heart melted in compassion for the lost.
Tekle came to visit her later, and she shared her perplexity over the way the Lord dealt with her. "Some times as I pray, I see many things. I see visions of Jesus, and He speaks to me. Even this morning, I saw a man die and then be brought back to life."
"No doubt God has given you discernment. Continue to seek the Lord, and He will reveal the matter to you." "Please pray for me," Erkenesh asked, kneeling. "I want to be led by the Spirit and to have spiritual gifts."
