IN SPITE OF THE STORMS
The Kenneth Wendell family came as missionaries to
Ethiopia in 1969, and the John Harris family joined them in 1970. Before their arrival, Tekle, a well known evangelist in the land, travelled all over the country holding large crusades. He taught holiness, healing, and the in-filling of
the Holy Ghost and saw many miracles of deliverance.
Though he had pressing invitations to affiliate with other churches, the Lord warned him to wait until the true church came. He met the Wendells, and the Lord confirmed the truth they taught when Bobbye Wendell sent him a tract written by Mike Trepasso. Tekle received an amazing vision with a revelation of baptism in the name of Jesus and Jehovah of the Old Testament is Jesus of the new Testament.
After Brother Wendell baptized him in the Name of Jesus, Tekle witnessed boldly everywhere and baptized Amare, Solomon, Teshome, and others in Addis Ababa. The work that began with lepers living in the cemetery now showed progress reaching out to others, only to be slammed
