JESUS THE ULTIMAIE OL0GY
heaYen reachable, Christianity practical and holiness possible.
Although he is known worldwide, Johnny James does not demand preaching "contracts" or the promise of a particular sized gratuity for preaching the gospel. If his schedule allows, he will respond to preaching invitations from both the menial and the munificent without discrimination.
At the time of this writing, he had preached at nearly 2000 churches. Every pastor, parishioner and person in any one of those congregations will testify that Johnny James has "never" strayed from the subject ofJesus.
His father was a Methodist bishop, but his mother, Bertha Valentine James, was saved, sanctified and baptized in the precious name ofJesus.
Johnny James says of his mother: "She was a hymnologist, she wrote over a thousand songs. She was bilingual and she was quite a woman. My mother is also the author of the song, 'When I think of the Goodness of Jesus'. She was preparing me for ministry even from two years old". This is in reference to the fact that he and his sister Susie had to learn over 600 scripture passages in a year's time. The rule in the James' house was that they had to quote a scripture before they could eat dinner!
