We had a great Grand Lodge of North- west convention this year in May in Lynnwood WA at the Embassy Suites. Our Auburn member State President Rosetta Beyersdorf became the Immedi- ate Past State President. Linda Buccini Anderson (also an Auburn member and Bella Vita) was elected as the new State President congratulations Linda!
Also at the convention new State Orator Jeff D’Amelio and Immediate Past State President Rosetta Stella Beyersdorf were both awarded the Albert D Roselli award for service to the order and the community. It was an honor for me to present Jeff’s award. President Linda presented the award to Rosetta. They are two of the most deserving people and
a credit to the OSDIA in so many ways and for so many years. God Bless them both.
Auburn member Niko Mancuso was awarded a GLNW scholarship at the convention luncheon. Congratulations Niko. Niko is the son of Auburn mem- ber Aldo Mancuso and the Grand Son of Auburn member Maria Mancuso.

The Auburn Lodge is participating in the Italian Community Picnic again this year.
The date is Sunday, August 8, 2021. The picnic is held at the Royal Arch Park
In Maple Valley. Gates open at 10:30 AM and close at 6:30 PM. There is
a park admission fee of $5.00 for all except children under the age of 12. It
will be great to have this event starting up again and without conflict with other picnics as well.
At the GLNW convention this year we had a memorial for our members who passed away in the last two years. The Auburn Lodge lost four members and all of them were veterans.
In memory of our deceased Auburn members: Jim DeCaro 5-1-2019 US Army Veteran; Victor Scarpelli Sr 5-29-2019 Charter member, and US Air Force Veteran during and in the Korean war; Joseph “Joe” James Candito Sr 2-7-2020 US Army Korean War Vet- eran; Bill Peloza 4-29-2020 US Navy Korean War Veteran. Secretary Ronnie, mailed a copy of the memorial service program to all four families along with a letter describing the ceremony. Auburn member Bill Peloza’s memory was memorialized by the City of Au- burn by placing a bench in Les Gove Park at the location of the Farmers Mar- ket to honor former Councilman Bill Peloza who was the leader in getting the Farmers Markets started. However, Bill’s 16 years of service goes much farther and deeper than just the Farm- ers Market, which he single-handedly brought to success. If one takes the
time to read the memorial comments from the people that knew Bill one can realize what a great asset he was to the Auburn Community on a wide variety of contributions. Rest in Peace Bill you are greatly missed by many.
The next regular Auburn Lodge meeting is on September 10, 2021, (2nd Friday) at the Holy Family Church Hall.
