Naveen’s Journey: Diving Deep into the Heart of Yoga Philosophy
Naveen Jadhav from Mysore, India, is not just a student of Yoga — he is a seeker with an unwavering thirst for truth and understanding. His journey with Adhiyogi began with a profound commitment: to study not just the postures or surface-level aspects of Yoga, but its deepest philosophical roots.
Over the course of eight months, Naveen embarked on an intensive study of the Sāṅkhyakārikā under Adhiyogi’s guidance. This ancient philosophical text, often considered challenging and abstract, became crystal clear in Naveen’s mind through Adhiyogi’s methodical teaching. With every session, Adhiyogi brought the verses to life — offering real-world examples, patiently recapping earlier lessons, and ensuring that each concept was not only understood but internalized.
Through this study, Naveen gained deep insights into:
• The different kinds of suffering that human beings face.
• The theory of creation as explained by Sāṅkhya.
• The nature and interaction of the three gunas — sattva, rajas, and tamas.
• The qualities of Purusha (pure consciousness) and Prakriti (primordial nature).
• The intricate map of the 25 tattvas (elements) of creation.
• The roles of buddhi, ahankara, manas, and the antahkarana.
• The composition of the subtle body, and the processes of baudhika and bhautika sarga
(mental and material creation).
• Most importantly, the bondage of Prakriti and the path to its liberation.
This deep knowledge, when combined with his prior studies of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, gave Naveen a profound understanding of the internal world. It brought him peace, clarity, and an enriched meditation practice.
The Patanjali Code Course
Before beginning Sāṅkhya, Naveen had also completed Adhiyogi’s Patanjali Code Course — a systematic, long-term weekend program that completely reshaped his understanding of Yoga philosophy.
Naveen had practiced meditation for years, but his aim in taking the course was specific: to understand the nature of consciousness and learn how to dive deeper within.
Adhiyogi’s unique arrangement of the Yoga Sutras — from the Arambha Prakarana (introduction) to Kaivalya Prapti (liberation) — gave him a clear, logical path to follow. Each step was explained with examples, discussion, and doubt-clearing, allowing Naveen to grasp even the most subtle concepts.
