A Spark in Napoli – Antonia’s Encounter with Adhiyogi
In the heart of Napoli, amidst the rich scent of espresso and the echoes of Vespas weaving through cobbled streets, Antonia, a dedicated yoga student, found herself at a crossroads in her practice. Although she had spent years exploring various yoga classes, something always seemed just out of reach—depth, precision, and clarity.
Then, almost serendipitously, she met Adhiyogi, a visiting teacher from India who was in Italy teaching a short program in nearby Avellino. Their time together was brief, spontaneous, and informal—but for Antonia, it became a turning point.
Though their session was short, the depth of Adhiyogi’s teaching left a deep impression on her. The clarity he brought to even two yoga postures, along with subtle conceptual insights, opened her eyes to a whole new dimension of yoga she had not yet experienced. She described the session as being on “a totally different level” than anything she had previously encountered.
Motivated and inspired, Antonia felt something shift inside her. That brief exchange wasn’t just about alignment or technique—it was about a new way of seeing, of approaching yoga with reverence, intelligence, and joy.
“I still need to thank you,” she later wrote to Adhiyogi, “even if it was short and improvised, it had great impact... it gave me great motivation to study yoga much more profoundly!”
Antonia's journey was reignited by a single moment of truth—a true teaching passed on from a master to a seeker, just as it has been done for centuries.
OM Shantiḥ.
