Birth of Adhiyogi
For Vinayak and Sumati, the journey of family life had already been blessed with four daughters. Yet, quietly, they both yearned for the birth of a son—one who might carry forward the deep spiritual legacy that had been shaping their lives. As the years passed, Vinayak reached the age of 49, and with a sense of surrender, he let go of this unfulfilled hope. But Sumati, with her gentle perseverance and unwavering faith, proposed that they try once more— this time through a sacred vow.
Together, they traveled to the holy site of Tryambakeshwar Jyotirlinga, a revered Shiva temple in Nasik, and performed a solemn Promise Prayer. They prayed deeply for a son and vowed that should their wish be fulfilled, they would bring the child for his first haircut (mundan) to the very same temple.
In a display of divine timing and fulfillment, exactly nine months later, their prayers bore fruit. A baby boy was born, and not on just any day—but on Maha Pradosh, a spiritually potent day dedicated to Lord Shiva. The air around the family seemed to pulse with sacred energy. Even before the birth, Vinayak had dreamed of a Yogi entering his household, a celestial being destined for something far greater than ordinary life.
Astrologers confirmed what the intuitive hearts of the parents already knew—the child carried signs of Yogic destiny. He was named Neelkanth, one of the most powerful names of Lord Shiva, who is known to have consumed poison during the churning of the ocean and emerged with a blue throat—a symbol of divine self-sacrifice and inner strength.
Thus began the earthly journey of the one who would become Adhiyogi—a life born not just of biology, but of sacred longing, prayer, and prophecy.
OM Shantiḥ
