SAFETY & SECURITY
Breathe Easy
In accordance with city by-laws on smoke free areas, our hotel is non-smoking. Guests
are permitted to smoke in designated areas outside the hotel, away from the entrances. A $250.00 + HST fee will be charged to the guest’s account should smoking take place in the guestroom.
Emergency Exits
Emergency Exits are located at the end of each hallway.
Ensure you are aware of the emergency exit nearest to you, as well as an alternative exit. Please read emergency instructions located on the back of your room door. If you have any questions on this subject, please contact Guest Services by dialling 0
Fire
Fire Prevention Rules
Smoking is not permitted inside the hotel or parkade as per provincial legislation. Smoking is permitted outside hotel, a minimum of 4 metres from hotel entrances. Cooking and heat-producing appliances, including candles, are strictly forbidden. Any unauthorized appliances may be removed from your room.
Upon Hearing Fire Alarm
Take key card. Exit room. Close door.
Proceed to the closest exit and take the stairs to the lobby to await further instructions.
Do not use the elevator!
If smoke is heavy in the corridor, it may be safer to stay in your room. Close door and place a wet towel at the base of door. Notify the hotel operator immediately by dialling 0. If you encounter smoke in the stairwells, use alternate exit.
Upon Discovery of Fire
All occupants must leave the room immediately and close the door. Sound the re alarm.
Leave the building via the nearest exit.
Do not use the elevators!

For your own protection:
Ensure the door is closed, deadbolt engaged, and the door chain is in place.
Inquire who is at the door before opening. If in doubt, do not let the person in your room -- call the hotel operator.
