Belvedere
HISTORY
he Belvedere opened in 1903, the scene of many brilliant social gatherings. The room to the east of the lobby was known as the Tea room, where Baltimore’s elite would don their prettiest tea gowns and spend their afternoons. The Palm room debuted with an Edwardian feel, with potted palms in the parlor, Tiffany glass, and Persian carpets throughout and was known for its animated evenings. The Belvedere attracted the famous who
stayed throughout the century including
Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Al Pacino,
numerous Presidents and royalty.
The Belvedere, past and present, is
the place to meet.
