AMBASSADOR PROGRAM
The Chamber Connections Committee is our hospitality committee. Members attend Ribbon cuttings, welcome breakfasts, etc. Chair Pam Negron, Negron Farmers Insurance Agency, 443-261-0500.
TOAST OF SEVERNA PARK/ Toastmasters Organization
The Greater Severna Park Chamber had a role in getting this Toastmasters Club started. Meetings are held
the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Toastmasters helps people develop public speaking and leadership skills. For more info, contact Paulette Morris at 410-360-8882.
LEGISLATIVE
The Chamber is a legislative voice for its members on business issues or issues which affect our area or the growth and economic welfare of our county. Legislative updates are provided during session on an ongoing basis.
“BUSINESS BITES” Luncheon Seminar Series
“Business Bites” is a bit of lunch and a bit of information together in a lunchtime mini-seminar. Topics are presented by a different Member each month. Chair Ann Brennen, ASMM and Digital Marketing, 443- 679-4916
SHOP LOCAL
This group is focused on supporting local business and encouraging
the community to see the key role local businesses play in keeping our community strong and vibrant. We hold a Shop Local Fun Festival every spring, chaired by Larry Sells of the Severna Park Voice.
HOLIDAY TREE LIGHTING
This annual event is a winter “signature” event for the Chamber. This event provides entertainment and an open house at the Chamber’s building on Holly Avenue.
INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
This annual event is a signature event for the Chamber of Commerce. Our parade is held on July 4th, beginning at 10 a.m. and many volunteers are needed. The theme is chosen early in the year and applications are available by early spring. The Chamber is proud to be a part of events recognizing our nation’s birthday.
SHOP LOCAL FESTIVALS
This committee works to organize our twice-annual Shop Local Festivals in the spring and autumn.
FUNDRAISING
Two primary events are planned each year. They are our annual “Driving Force” for Business Golf Tournament in October, and the “Taste & Sip” of Greater Severna Park in December. Both events present the opportunity for involvement by our members, and both are not only fundraisers, but “fun raisers” as well!
