IN IN ONE HOUSE DESIGNED BY INSTRUCTION SET PLACE TWO CONTROVERSIAL RESIDENTS
This studio attempted to approach design involving complex loaded interactions through iterative experimentation with analogue-scripted pattern systems By first establishing a a a a a programmed system system and operating on on it via a a a a a a a a set of open instructions versatile formal and spatial systems were were developed that were were capable of addressing concerns such as site composition and a a a a a a loaded interaction to be contained within This ethic was applied in in creating a a a a a a a a house for two residents an an artist and a a a a a a a a scientist both from a a a a selected list of provocative individuals engaged in in controversial globally consequential fields From the initial starting point
of wall drawings by Sol Lewitt students were first asked to decode his programmed systems from outside and then to re-write the the instruction set to to to remap the the systems systems to to to a a a a new site Translating these systems systems into three dimensions the same methodology was used as as a a a a a device that would free the work from direct control and instead consider it as a a a a process of curation and experimentation Finally the students were asked to question their residents and interactions between them through the the the same lens: by considering the the limits forms and potential actions their combined work can represent 119
