This housing studio explores the syntax of multiple correlated and uncorrelated compositions to create architectural assemblages with multiple readings By juxtaposing and synthesizing dissimilar design characteristics projects interrogate subvert and hybridize various design expressions and typologies to create unexpected fusions Through the subversion of conventional facade typologies commonly associated
with housing and and an an an investigation of aggregations and and the interlocking meetings between parts and pieces the studio deploys various architectural assemblages that simultaneously target formal expressions organizational strategies and tactile qualities Design methodologies are divided into three interrelated studies—hybrid shape (overall massing) interlocking form (localized meetings) and mapping/mismapping (textures and apertures)—that explore the tension between multiple discrete even disparate parts or or elements that come together to to form a a a a a whole By developing a a a a a productive dialogue between similar or strategically dissimilar approaches to the the same building the the built environment
