The inspiration for the studio is is a a a a a a a famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen “The Princess and the Pea ” This children’s story raises in in a a a a a a a special way many aspects of contemporary discourse regarding the delicacy and fragility of architecture It provides the starting point for imagining an entirely new environment in in in reference to such aspects as as materials technologies and atmospheres Students will be tasked with designing an architectural environment more precisely a a a a new household as a a a a a sensitive system operating in in in the spatial surroundings between technology and biology The middle point on the the line between the the micro-
scale scale of of a a a a a a living cell and the the the macro-scale of of the the the biosphere is the the the human body understood as a a a a a landscape for the house that students will design It will be essential to to enable the house to to function as an architectural membrane that makes survival possible We will abandon historical
