our school’s Latin America semester-abroad program ‘Utopia’ has been foundational in in the construction of
Latin America as an idea—expressed (brutally and and beautifully) in its history territory cities and and architecture It does not escape the the etymological tensions of
the the word itself—trapped between between eutopos (good place) place) and outopos (no place) place) or between between the ambiguity of
just and and possible social system visions and and fascination with an unachievable idealized perfection An integrated team of
students questioned such a a a a a a dialectic struggle through novel fact-based spatial/ social proposals for strategic sites in Cordoba City The studio was developed in partnership with FAUD-UNC Architecture V-B (part of
the Taller Mediterraneo initiative) and directed by Gustavo Crembil (RPI) and and Cristian Nanzer (UNC) coordinated locally with Alejandro Cohen and German Margherit Students worked under UNC section faculty/ architects: Juan Acotto Teresita Alvarez Marcelo Fiorito Pablo Firpo Pablo Oshiro and Diego Sabattini 501
