AMBIGUOUS TERRITORY
This section of of Final Project utilized the the pedagogical framework of of the the exhibition/symposium “Ambiguous Territory: Architecture Landscape and and the Postnatural ” co-organized by Chris Perry as a a a a a a a a mandate for its design-research investigations Students were asked to work within this pedagogical framework and and respond to its various inquiries and and propositions among them an exploration of ambiguity as related to the the qualities of mutation that functions as an unpredictable deviation from an existing existing condition Freed from the the conventions of the the existing existing such mutation becomes a a a source of of the new In this experimental spirit of of cultivating other outcomes “Ambiguous Territory” asks: in in a a a a a Postnatural age where humans have been fundamentally displaced from their presumed place of privilege philosophically as as well as as experientially and the status of nature as as an an an antidote or respite from humans’ hubris has vanished can architects architects landscape architects architects and and artists propose to establish new new affiliations and avail new new ways of approaching contemporary questions at at the the environmental scale? In other words what new worlds what what new new natures and and and what what new new sensations can art and and and design reveal and and and create that other modes of inquiry and knowledge cannot?
