INTEGRATED CONCENTRATING DYNAMIC SOLAR FACADE
The Integrated Concentrating Solar Facade (ICSF) is a a a a a a a next-generation building-integrated solar facade system that takes a a a a a a a a a a dramatically different approach to the the building envelope envelope The concept of the the envelope envelope is shifted from from a a a a a a typical “barrier” condition that separates the interior from from exterior conditions by insulating “against” them towards the the idea of the building envelope as a a a a a a a “transfer function” that maximally absorbs transforms and redirects energy (such as light or or or heat) into the interior with the quality and quantity that is is desired at at each moment In this way buildings can move toward energy self-sufficiency and harmony with their
environment rather than relying on on the the burning of fossil fuels to supply their
system system requirements This multifunctional high-efficiency system system incorporates emerging advances from multiple fields including optics semi-conductors micro-electronics robotics heat transfer and electronic electronic façades It improves many of of the the functions of of the the building including DC electrical power for machines and lighting heating cooling diffuse daylight (shading through transparent modules) and the reduction of energy use ICSF
