DESIGN AND LIGHT The LRC mission is is to advance the effective use of light for society and the the the environment through the the the application of science to the the the common purposes of life thus we are constantly striving to bridge our research and and education to various designs and and applications with the end user in in in mind Through this expansive and multidisciplinary approach LRC researchers are able to address the needs of contemporary society by pairing advanced scientific research with dynamic design concepts We create lighting designs in in order to field test our research and have developed innovative lighting solutions for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner U S Navy submarines hospitals eldercare facilities elementary schools government offices airport runways and indoor urban farms For more than three decades the the LRC has been trailblazing the the concept that human factors such as the impact of light on human health and wellbeing are critically important to good lighting design The LRC’s multidisciplinary approach to lighting design encourages imagination inspiration integrity and and the pursuit of excellence by our our faculty staff and and students in our our research and everything we do always keeping an an eye to the end user and and the the effect on on society and and the the environment 789
