Welcome to the 2019 Horley Carnival with Great Moments in History as the theme.
The parade will form up in the Victoria Road car park and, leaving at 12.30 pm, travel to the A23 Recreation Ground via the town centre where we expect it to arrive around 1.00 pm. The full parade route can be found in this programme.
The floats will be judged by the Mayors of Reigate & Banstead and Horley before the parade sets off.
Two of the four bands, before joining the parade, will be performing in the pedestrian precinct, or the area outside the Post Office dependent upon the work being carried out in the pedestrian precinct, and outside Costa Coffee.
This years arena programme includes Flyte of Fancy sheepdog show and an Indian dance group from Crawley whilst in the grounds will be the Kidsroam petting farm and tractor rides.
Team Rubicon will be giving free lessons using scooters/skate boards etc on the skate park. Don't worry if you do not have some of the equipment which they will supply. Pre- booking is not required just turn up on the day.
Returning will be favourites interactive characters from Animatronics, Tom's Talking Reptiles, Owls about Town, Punch and Judy.
Appearing for the second year running will be our local Army Reserves both in the parade and in the grounds.
The evening fireworks display organised by Beach's Funfair will start at 9.45 pm approximately. There will be no entry charge to attend.
I would like to acknowledge the hard work put in by the organising team which has comprised Horley Lions, 41 Club, MAD Ideas, Susy Radio, Horley Town Council, Chamber of Commerce and Alex Goddard.
Please take the time to visit the many stalls around the ground many of which are from these and other community groups.
The list of parade participants, arena events and stall holders was correct at the time of going to print and is subject to later additions and cancellations.
I would like to thank our many sponsors who include Gatwick Airport Ltd, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council Councillors and those local companies and individuals listed in the 'thank you 'page at the back of this programme also the numerous local companies who have sponsored this programme.
