While Hereford City has its Old Market shopping centre with the usual national outlets, it’s in the side streets of the market towns and unique satellite destinations where you’ll find something different and which show off not just the skills and crafts of the region, but inspiring enticing purchases that will forever remind you of your lovely visit.
Independent shopping villages like Labels in Ross-on-Wye and The Hop Pocket at Bishop’s Frome are not just your generic collective of outlet names. Built all under one roof, Labels certainly offers discounted brands but also has
its own seafood bar and even a new boutique cinema. The Hop Pocket’s vast craft emporium, restaurant and specialist garden centre, is all set on a farm in converted hop buildings and is also home to a great range of independent home and garden retailers, fashion and footwear, a huge toy department and even an acclaimed art gallery on its 5.5 acre site.
A deli and farm shop, salvaged furniture sales and pop-up events all adds to the artisan café that is The Nest at this quirky roadside location, and Newent Plant Centre directly next door is a must for
discerning plant enthusiasts looking for specialist flora and fauna as well as the usual quality house and garden plants.
The hours vanish at Holloways as you’re suddenly inspired to remodel your home when you discover how modern furnishings can successfully mix with salvaged garden items. Good job there’s a great café to refuel your thoughts.
And back towards Hereford, family owned Radway Bridge Garden Centre and Nurseries site hosts a whole complex of little businesses as well as its own seasonally changing independent garden centre.
