Herefordshire and The Marches are a haven for the creative mind and many have deliberately sought out the inspiration and peace of the countryside to make and showcase some incredible work.
Old Chapel Gallery
A real destination in the Black & White Village of Pembridge, Old Chapel proudly showcases only the work of British makers at their converted chapel premises and sculpture garden. Catch their year-round seasonal exhibitions, alongside the continuous collection of unique textiles, ceramics, art, jewellery, gifts, art and more.
H.Art
A highlight of Herefordshire’s art calendar, this week-long event in September captures the whole county on a wonderful open-house trail where artists as well as venues open their private studios, galleries and workshops to the public.
Meadow Arts
This initiative specialises in staging exhibitions in unusual locations around the region. The thought-provoking visuals are always accessible, presented with impressive impact and often out in the open – get your smiles and ‘wows’ ready.
The Lion Gallery
Since 2005 this Leominster gallery has provided a showcase for the best in contemporary craftwork and fine art from the region, going on to show nearly 500 makers. You'll find a changing stock of jewellery, ceramics, glass, textiles, wood and mixed media alongside original prints, photographs and some paintings high quality hand made craftwork from local and national makers.
Made in The Marches Gallery
This friendly destination in Kington is an eclectic showcase of regional talent from The Marches area presenting traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, and a schedule of exhibitions mixes with ‘have a go’ workshops and ‘meet the maker’ opportunities. The gallery ties in strongly with year two of Marches Makers Festival in May which gathers all these creatives and more together in one exclusive public showcase at various Kington venues.
