Craig-y-nos Country Park

The 40-acre country park is part of the historic grounds of the Victorian Craig-y-nos
Castle and is owned and managed by the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park Authority.
It is also the Geopark Discovery Point. There are flat, tarmac surfaced routes through
woodlands and meadows, alongside the River Tawe or round the Duck Pond or the Far
Lake. Other grass, compacted soil or gravel paths lead off this and are level or gently
sloping. Some picnic benches are provided. The routes over the meadow area can be
soft underfoot and boggy after rain. Find a tactile map and information board at the
bottom of the car park, at the start of the main paths.
How to get there: Just off the A4067 between Ystradgynlais and Sennybridge.

Public Transport: Bus: T6 Brecon to Swansea.(TC) Buses stop outside Craig-y-nos
Castle close to the entrance of the Country Park.
Parking: The car park is on a slope but has disabled parking bays for blue badge holders
at the flatter, far end.
Distance: There are a range of options from a few yards/metres to about a mile/1.5km.
Nearest EV Charging: 8 x Destination Chargers, 2 x Rapid Chargers in the car park.
Facilities: Café on site with indoor, undercover and outdoor seating and craft shops.
Toilets: The main toilet block and disabled toilet with baby changing facility is next to the
café. There is also a RADAR locked wet room facility near the Duck Pond.
