 2.3 Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act
The RLSP supports the seven well-being goals of the act through its ongoing activity which includes:

1. A prosperous Wales
RLSP Activity
• Facilitating businesses to identify and evidence skills requirements at a local level and to engage with providers to address skills gaps and drive prosperity and growth.
• Support sustainable employment through promoting apprenticeships and other vocational learning opportunities including higher, degree and shared apprenticeships.
• Encourage and support lifelong learning through supporting in work and employability skills and to support continuous skills development and sustainable employment.
• Support the transition of the region and its economy with the appropriate digital skills including through the Swansea Bay City Deal to secure high skill, high wage sustainable jobs for the future.
• Supporting those sectors closely aligned to biodiversity and the management of natural resources to acquire a skilled workforce which develops resilience within the business and in turn Wales as a whole.
• Promote regional equality through supporting individuals
and businesses to achieve their potential through providing appropriate learning opportunities and progression pathways.
• Engaging with young people to promote skills and regional career opportunities through working with schools to ensure that all learners have the opportunity to reach their potential regardless of their backgrounds or personal circumstances.
• Highlighting inequalities present in the economy i.e. gender imbalances and supporting interventions which aim to address these inequalities.
• Supporting individuals to acquire meaningful employment which will ultimately improve their quality of life.
• Supporting individuals to gain skills which allow them to make a positive contribution to the economy which in turn will improve wellbeing.
• To highlight the challenges and barriers some communities face in accessing services, training and employment.
• To highlight areas of the curriculum which support in creating cohesive communities i.e. increased focus on dementia care within Health and Social Care provision.
