2.1.2 Economic Performance
The most recently available Gross Value Added (GVA) figures indicate a continued disparity between regional and national averages. The gap continues to grow and worsen year on year with a South West Wales average of 64.5 and a Mid Wales average of 64.6 in comparison with the indexed value of 100.00 for the UK.
2.1.3 Qualification Levels
Qualification levels across the South West Wales region continue to lag behind national averages with more individuals in the region possessing no qualifications and less people possessing qualifications at level 4 or above.
Conversely, averages for Mid Wales compare more favourably with national averages exhibiting a higher proportion of individuals qualified to level 4 or above and exhibiting lower levels of those possessing no qualifications.
