Presteigne
Apparently on the ‘English’ side of Offa's Dyke and full of historic buildings, explore Presteigne’s Town Trail, annual festivals and popular Farmer’s markets filled with local artisan produce. Or enjoy the art gallery, antique shops, coffee houses and deli.
Knighton
Known as ‘The Town on the Dyke’, Knighton is home to the Offa’s Dyke Centre. Discover the quaint 17C buildings of ‘The Narrows’ and Broad Street with their beautiful gallery, shops, social history museum, welcoming cafes and
bustling community market. Explore
The Spaceguard Centre observatory with its Planetarium and meteorite exhibition. Look out for soaring Red Kites, especially from the spectacular elevated views of award winning gastro destination The Harp at Old Radnor.
Offa’s Dyke
Offa, the King of Mercia, is said to have built Offa’s Dyke to stop the invasion of the Welsh into England. It’s one of Britain’s National Trails running 177 miles. To walk the whole path takes on average about two weeks (with no break!).
