In 2018, Shelly Grigg, Bob Ireland and Alison Walker approached businesses around Middlesbrough, to raise donations for the BNTVA. The Don Bar Memorial in Stockton-on-Tees had sanded a table for a lady whose son was killed in action in Afghanistan, and laser printed it with his regiment. Shelly asked if this could be done for the BNTVA also, and the Don Bar were happy to do this.
So, the day the BNTVA table was unveiled in October 2018, Bob talked about the British nuclear tests, and Shelly, Bob and Alison laid a wreath at the Stockton War Memorial, with a piper and bugler present, to remember those who have gone yet are not forgotten.
The table has now been moved to the new premises of the Don Bar Memorial Museum and Veterans' Hub Community Interest Company, and Last Post Memorial Bar in Cranworth Street, Thornaby, TS17 7DR.
Ken Taylor (Royal Navy Cook, HMS Narvik, Christmas Island) and his wife, Pam, organised the placing of the BNTVA memorial plaque at All Saints' Church, Newham.
The Middlesex and London Standard is laid up at the same church.
