New Build and
Refit Management Course
The Crew Academy is delighted to announce the long awaited development of the Industries first Recognised, Accredited and Residential New Build and Refit Management Course.
In association with a number of industry leading shipyards the academy will be launching in March 2019 an 8 week intensive residential academic shipyard new build and refit management course.
Spaces are restricted to 12 candidates and the course is a fully accredited and certified university level platform that will enable you to manage both the build process for new yachts as well as manage refits for yachts up to 150 meters.
The course will cover the below content:
• Standard SWOT
• Stakeholder Matrix
• Risk Map
• Decision trees
• MS Planner
You will learn how to:
• RACI,
• Cause and effect
• Risk Profiles
• Radar chart
• Excel, Word & Powerpoint
• Manage the relations between the owner, the owners rep, the numerous project managers, the interior and exterior designers, the naval architects and finally the shipyard and its key staff
• Manage the contract and contractors relationships
• Manage the build specifications and understand the numerous
terminology
It also includes:
• Engineering and Operational management software and tools
• Analysis and reviewing the numerous stages and build
• Budgeting and accounting software
• Payment terms and structured scheduled payment distribution
• Crew Recruitment & Crew Training
(Bridge/Deck/Galley and Interior)
• SOP development and management
• Final stages of the build, launch, sea trials and 1st season operations
• Warranty Work and Terms
• Managing build conflicts and ensuring the relationship between
build team and shipyard is harmonious
Accommodation is provided on a shared room basis in the SoF near the Academy’s training facility in Golfe Juan.
