Gwernyfed RFC’s Brian Jones offers a brief financial breakdown of the club’s finances...
GWERNYFED RFC
WHERE THE MONEY GOES
EXPENDITURE FOR 2014/15 in £,000s
03
INCOME FOR 2014/15 in £,000s
As I pen this report, the club is about to install a large mobile cabin to accommodate all the training equipment for the Club’s 17 sides. The unit will also be used for sales of Club leisurewear and also to provide refreshments and snacks on game days.
We have grown year on year and our main challenge now, is maintaining our playing facilities to accommodate our many teams - with that, of course, comes a cost! One of the main ways we would like to raise funds will be to promote weekly lottery sales.
Finally, what a joy to see 80 club members of all ages - boys, girls and past and present players attending the summer touch rugby sessions.
As chairman of the committee, I would like to thank all those who give of their time, whether it be at meetings in the Club or at home working hard. Thanks to everybody for the last twelve months - we look forward to the start of the next 50 years with great anticipation.
Thanks to all.

There was an excess of expenditure over income amounting to approx £5k. for the 2014/15 season largely due to increased spending on:-
(a). Grounds Maintenance mainly due to maintenance of pitches (£7.6k) & fencing (£2k). (b). Floodlighting new floodlights have been erected on the Athletic pitch (£14.2k).
(c). Utilitiescomparedto2013/14,overallcostshaveincreasedby36%
as the following chart shows:-
Although monies received from Grants and the WRU were lower than in 2013/14, proceeds from the Bar increased this year mainly due to the Summer Ball and YFC Rally /Concert weekend. Finally, the Club would sincerely like to thank their loyal sponsors, vice presidents and donors for their continued financial support for, without them, Gwernyfed RFC would not be able to function.
