The Loughpool Nr Ross on Wye
Grove Common, Sellack, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire HR9 6LX

This picture postcard Black & White country pub and restaurant is just a few miles outside Ross-on-Wye in the Wye Valley. Nestled in beautiful rural south Herefordshire, The Loughpool successfully combines the warm hospitality of a traditional country pub with a restaurant that features high quality local produce. A pretty, enticing garden lets you enjoy a relaxed summertime drink or meal and in the winter big roaring fires will keep you warm and cosy. Since re-opening in 2015, current owners Paul and Svenia Franklin have sympathetically refurbished the building’s interior to a
tasteful traditional public house. Originally a timbered cottage,
it is surrounded by bridleways and walks, and the beautiful beamed bar, with flagstones, rustic furniture and a woodburner.
They are dog-friendly and popular with locals as well as visitors. The Loughpool is one of the county’s strongest venues for great food, and is a favourite Sunday lunch destination. A wide range of local ales and cider and a specially selected wine list completes a perfect combination of food, drink and relaxation.
Open Tues – Saturday. Lunch 12.00-3.00pm (last food orders 1.30pm). Dinner 6.30-10.30pm. Fri & Sat until 11pm (last food orders 8.30pm). Sunday evening and Monday - closed.
