So, whistle and sing happy tunes to yourself for a
few minutes every day and watch your life transform
for the better.
• Notice the small good things: Instead of focusing
on what's wrong, try to spot the little things that are
okay or even good. Like a nice cup of tea or a
friendly person.
• Quick thanks: Just take a second to think about a
couple of things you're grateful for right now.
Doesn't have to be a big deal.
• Think about something nice coming up: It could
be later today or sometime soon, just something
you're looking forward to.
• Take a break from things that make you feel bad:
If the news or certain people are bringing you
down, step away for a little while.
Being a temporary optimist is just about finding little
ways to feel a bit better in the moment. You're not
trying to be super happy all the time, just giving
yourself a little boost when you need it.
