steady. Eyes begging. Tension in the air. Waiting.
I was surprised at her brashness. But not by her
action. I’d heard stories. A guy I knew offered a top
developer ten grand, all his savings and then some,
just to shadow him for one day. And yes, you guessed
it. At the end of the day he offered him a job and told
him to keep his money saying that he wanted people
with that kind of hunger and initiative on his team.
This story has always stuck with me. The power of
being bold.
Julia? The same thing. Willing to risk it all. To put
herself out there. To get what she wanted. The
boldness? It might raise eyebrows but it showed she
had something else. Confidence. Drive. Sometimes
that’s all it takes to get noticed. To open doors.
“Help me find my purpose.” She said. Low.
Urgent. Simple. Sincere. She caught me off guard.
I was trying to think it through, put myself in her
shoes. “There are no guarantees,” I warned. “I’ve got
to be straight with you.
Determination flickered for an instant behind her
brown eyes, like a spark of defiance.
