hang around wishing, waiting and hoping for
something to happen, nothing ever will. You end up
feeling bad because you talked yourself out of
something or just plain chickened out. The more you
hesitate, the more reason you have to beat yourself up
for procrastinating. Sometimes you just have to go for
it. The more you practice the easier it gets. For
example:
Read the following three scenarios. Using the
details of the situation along with your imagination
decide what you would say. Come up with a
conversational statement or two for each, and then
follow it with an open question. One that begins with
“Who,” “What,” “Why,” “Where,”
“When,” or “How.” There are no right or wrong
answers.
1. It’s raining and as you leave the store several
people are waiting under the awning for the rain to let
up, because, like you, they have no umbrella. You are
standing near someone and you say….
