“Why bother,” Selina snapped.
Eric stood up. “Thanks. Just one more thing. In my
blog I’m asking readers to say something to a stranger
at least once a day for a week and let me know how it
goes. What do you think? Would any of you do that
and text me how it went?”
“Yes,” Ben shrugged. “I will.”
“Sure. I feel like when I’m walking down the street,
I smile at people anyway,” Lilly said. “I kind of ‘mouth-
hi’ them. I don’t really say it.”
“Sure,” Said Anna.
“Sorry,” Selina said.
“Hey that’s cool,” Anna told her.
Eric asked their ages. Two of them were fourteen
and two just turned fifteen. He asked which generation
they thought they belonged to. Ben quickly replied,
“Gen Z”. For a moment they were thinking then Selina
said. “We’re teenagers.”
All four of them took the challenge and texted their
feedback.
