to strangers.
If you’ve ever been on the subway or in an elevator,
you know the rules. Don’t make eye contact, stay as far
away from other people as you can, and whatever you
do, don’t talk to strangers.
But what if the rules are wrong?
The benefits of talking to strangers not only make
life more enjoyable and full of unforeseen
opportunities but it also helps develop confidence and
high self-esteem and puts an end to loneliness and
isolation.
Surely, it’s better to convince everyone that talking
to the right strangers can not only make their lives
safer, healthier, and more fun, it’s pretty much the only
guaranteed way to meet new people.
Who Are These Strangers?
Some cultures have no word for strangers because
the people they haven’t yet met are assumed to be
friends. In our culture, though, the people we haven’t
yet met are assumed to be strange.
Then, there are the countries where it is taboo to
