the secrets of the great communicators
If you drive by today, you can see the sign for yourself.
It reads, WE EAT ONLY APPLES AND CARROTS.
(Stepping onto the far bank) The only time you can
fail at something is when you stop processing feedback.
Know what you want, make a plan, and take action. But
solicit feedback to find out how your efforts are going. Be
flexible and change what you do until you get what you
want.
(Looking to the future) Just imagine how much more
success you can have in your life when you let feedback
be your guide.
Top Ten Tests for a Story
Your stories should be tight and to the point. There is
no room for digressions or distractions. Check your
stories against the ten tests below and adjust them to
optimize their performance.
1. Does it address the three key questions: “So what?”
“Who cares?” and “What’s in it for me?”
2. Does it have a point? Remember: No point? No story.
What’s your point?
3. Is it different (not just another office story)? Make it
interesting, unusual, even triumphant.
