NICHOLAS BOOTHMAN
Liam watched as The Director began his carefully
constructed narrative, painting Evelyn as a delusional,
grieving woman. He watched as Dr. Sharma distorted
Evelyn's brainwave data.
"They're discrediting her," he said. "They're
destroying her."
Cassandra watched the screen, her journalistic
instincts screaming something was wrong. The data
didn't quite add up. The "erratic" patterns seemed…
too organized. Too deliberate.
Then, she saw it. A slight anomaly in Evelyn’s
brainwave display. A unique, repeating pattern, hidden
within the chaos. A signature.
She leaned closer to the screen running a quick
analysis.
"What is that?" she murmured, her voice filled
with a new kind of awe. "It's… a code. A message."
Liam stared at the screen, his eyes wide. Evelyn
was fighting back.
Cassandra looked at him, her face grim. "She's
sending a signal, O'Connell. A message. And I think…
I think she's telling us where she is. And what they're
doing to her."
The Director’s voice droned. He had no idea.
