NICHOLAS BOOTHMAN
"They're not just guards," Vega murmured to
Liam. "These are professionals. Mercenaries. They'll
kill us without a second thought."
“So, what do we do?" Liam said.
Vega pulled a handful of small, metallic spheres
from his belt. Flashbangs. "Diversion. Then, we go
through them."
He tossed the first sphere. It landed with a soft
thud among the operatives.
A blinding flash of light. A deafening BANG!
The corridor erupted in shouts and curses. The
operatives staggered back, their hands flying to their
faces.
"Go!" Vega roared, grabbing the gurney. He
shoved it forward, directly into the bewildered
operatives.
Liam heard the shouts, the grunts, the sickening
thud of bodies colliding.
Vega was a whirlwind, moving through the chaos,
he disarmed, he struck, he incapacitated. He was a
one-man army.
But there were too many of them.
One of them, raised his rifle, aiming at Vega.
"Vega! Look out!" Liam yelled.
