NICHOLAS BOOTHMAN
Cassandra was silent for a long moment. Liam
could almost hear her mind working, sifting through
the chaos, looking for the kernel of truth.
"The Rockies, you say?" She finally said, her
voice thoughtful. That's… interesting. They have a lot
of shell corporations. And they've been buying up a lot
of remote properties in that region for years. Always
said it was for 'environmental research' or 'natural
resource extraction.’"
Liam was glad she wasn't dismissing him outright.
"I saw it, Cassandra," he pleaded. "It's a state of
deep clarity. It showed me everything. They're
controlling information. Controlling minds. They
killed Finch, the original researcher, a century ago.
And they'll kill Doctor Hayes too."
"Finch?" Cassandra repeated, a new note of
intrigue in her voice. "Alistair Finch? The forgotten
physician from the early 1900s? I did a piece on him
years ago. His work was… suppressed. Vanished
without a trace. I always wondered why."
"It was Helix Pharma," Liam said. "They've been
doing this for generations."
Cassandra was quiet again. Then, "Alright,
O'Connell. You've got my attention. But I need more
than just a frantic phone call from a man who claims
to have seen visions. I need proof. Tangible,
undeniable proof."
