Her voice trembled with emotion as she continued,

I closed the largest real estate deal of my life, a moment
of joy that gave value to my struggles. And as I watched
almost sixteen million euros flow into my bank account, I
felt an overwhelming sense of pride, vindication, and
gratitude. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I
thought of the long, arduous path that led me here – the
sleepless nights, the setbacks, the doubters. But most of
all, I thought of my family, and those whose support and
love fueled my determination to succeed."
I felt the breath go out of everyone around me.
Everyone except Paul. He stood there with a serene
smile on his face. After all, it turns out that he
masterminded Casilda's two successful land-banking
projects over the past three years—one for the hotel that
had just made her a fortune and the other for her passion
project.
I learned later that after Francesca left and Casilda's
husband passed away, she took on Paul as an office boy.
He filled the gap in her heart. She enrolled him in a six-
week business essentials program in Lisbon. While he
was there, he met Veronika, a young Croatian woman
