Thomas took Lara’s hand. "He’s right, you know.
Bloody perfect every time."
"Thank you for your kind words, Nicko," Thomas
began. "And while it is natural to believe that the
message itself is more important than how it is delivered,
the power of a message delivered by a child is
undeniable. The physical exchange between generations
from one hand to another proves more than words could
ever express. So yes, my darling Lara, the part you
played is one of immense value."
Lara's face lit up with a radiant smile, her eyebrows
rising slightly as she listened to the heartfelt words. Her
ears, attuned to the nuances of sound, drank in the
praise, and her head nodded subtly, as if savoring each
phrase.
"Thanks Dad," she whispered, her voice trembling,
as she turned to me. "And thank you, Nicko, for
understanding."
Lara's smile remained, her cheeks flushed with
pleasure, as she absorbed the significance of her actions.
Her posture straightened, conveying a sense of pride and
accomplishment, her other senses heightened as she
basked in the warmth of the moment.
