Chapter 15:
The Archives of Balance
Henry fought the cold that seeped into his bones,
focusing only on the raw information from the psychic
shock. He had no time for being amazed. He was the
guy who broke the world; he had to be the one to jerry-
rig the save.
The Shard, that massive, ugly geometry, hung silent
above the city, acting like a giant vacuum, sucking the
chemical and emotional mess out of the atmosphere. It
wasn't waiting. It was finishing its job.
Henry needed to beat its schedule.
He pieced together the fragments from the psychic
blast: ancient symbols, impossible math, and the
history of the last crash. All of it pointed to the one
place in the city no one bothered with anymore: the
university’s deep, restricted storage, the Archives of
Balance. The last people who failed this cosmic test had
left their warnings there.
